What is Rotary?

Rotary is a global network of more than 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs.  As people of action, we share a passion for and commitment to enhancing communities while improving lives around the world.

For over 100 years, Rotarians have been bringing our world together. Rotary was founded on principles that remain the focus of our organization today.  These principles reflect our core values– integrity, diversity, service, leadership, and fellowship.

The foundation of our club activities are our commitment to service through our five Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service and Youth Services.

The Rotary Club of Hendersonville changes lives here in Henderson County while connecting with other Rotary clubs to work on international projects that address current issues. Our weekly meetings unite dedicated, passionate business and community leaders to exchange ideas, build friendships, and take action.  Rotary is apolitical and nonreligious, and our club creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and guests.

Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self, reflects our belief in selfless volunteer service.

The Rotary Four Way Test

  1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

4. Is it BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
